It's weird to not eat Japanese food on Sawtelle but this little Thai street food stop seems to have found a winning recipe: any food + high heat is delicious. Their interpretation of the Chive Pancake is a fun one. The batter is shaped into small rectangles, so all sides have a crispy sear and the starchy center that's soft and chewy. The rest of the this meal was from the DineLA lunch menu and I think we got a good deal. Shrimp Balls are exactly that, but what's not to like? Moo Kluk Foon is a delicate little plate of fried pork jowl, an incredibly tender meat. Pad Zee Ew Moo Krob tastes like a street stall staple, delicate angel hair noodles with crispy pork belly bits. Khao Soi Chicken has a thick curry with an entire quarter of chicken on top. The meat is tender and more than enough to share, but I do wish they'd included more egg noodles. Thai Tea is technically a dessert but is better for washing down this meal so just request it early. The Tapioca Pudding is a small portion with a nice texture. Not too sweet for a lighter end to a rather filling meal. Good food, good execution, great lunch deal with DineLA. Even without the deal, I think I'd come again.

I've enjoyed both of my visits to Tuk Tuk thus far. The food is very delicious and arrives fast after ordering. Service is pretty good - they check on you multiple times and make sure to refill your water often. The first time, I found the medium curry to be spicier than the second time I ordered that heat. But the flavors were great, and portions are decent for sharing. I thought the Kabocha squash was a really unique dish and prepared in a way I had not had before. I'll definitely be back!

I came here for the DineLA menu with my friend. The menu includes an appetizer, a main, and a dessert which cost $25 per person. My friend and I ordered different things so we could taste more. Service was amazing and the staff was polite. Water was given in a full bottle to refill as you like. I took the bus so I didn't have to worry about parking but parking will be on street meters or in the neighborhood. -Pork jerky - crispy and the sauce is pungent and delicious. 5/5 -Shrimp balls - I thought they were gonna be basic shrimp balls you got at 99 Ranch but I was wrong. There was meat. I definitely love these. 5/5 -Singaporean noodles with crispy pork has good and just-right flavor. The pork was crispy. There was a lot of pork, but not enough vegetables. 5/5 - Beef stew noodle soup tasted just like Vietnamese pho though, but less meat than Vietnamese pho. The broth is still very rich in flavor 3/5 - tapioca pudding is tapioca balls with coconut milk and taro. I do like it but I was very full. 5/5

Was feeling Thai food, and so two of my friends and I went to Tuk Tuk Thai to try it out (: We ordered Panang Curry, Pad Thai Moo Grob, and Grapow Fried Rice. I think all of the dishes we got tasted quite good and authentic. I also really enjoyed the pork pieces in the Pad Thai. Good strong flavor in all the dishes. I do think that the portioning was a bit small for the price :( That was the main unfortunate part. I also think that there was not a lot o protein on the dishes, but that could just be variable between each person. Service was great, and the ambiance of the place was really nice. The lighting was a little darker but orange themed. Parking wasn't an issue since it's Sawtelle and there's lots of street parking nearby.
